The nose is fruity and offers a certain concentration, gourmandise as well as a fine depth. There are notes of pulpy/crunchy blackcurrant, pulpy/crunchy strawberry and, more slightly, crushed redcurrant, combined with fine touches of star anise, fresh nutmeg and a very discreet hint of pepper. The palate is fruity, racy and offers juiciness, acidity, good definition, a certain gourmandise, finesse, energy, a finely creamy texture and a nice fine grain. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crushed blackcurrant, pulpy currant and more slightly tart/pulpy cherry combined with hints of star anise, crushed berries, blueberry as well as a hint of Sichuan pepper, Bourbon vanilla and a subtle touch of toastiness. The tannins are finely mellow. Lovely freshness and deliciousness.
