Covert – Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, Clone 341 – Coombsville, Napa Valley

The nose is fresh and offers a slight intensity as well as a very slight power. It reveals notes of ripe red berries, juicy black berries and small notes of blackberry associated with slight touches of flowers / grove, licorice, chocolate and vanilla. The palate is fruity, juicy, well-balanced and offers a good definition, juiciness, a good freshness, a good tannic structure, a beautiful matter, a slight density, volume as well as a beautiful acidulous sensation. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy cassis, juicy redcurrants and small notes of blueberry associated with slight touches of racy minerality, Zan as well as discreet hints of flowers, grove (in the background), blond tobacco, nutmeg and minty liquorice. Tannins are fine and a bit firm.
