Clotilde Legrand, Les Terraces 2017 – Saumur – Champigny

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity, with light garnet reflections. The nose is fragrant and offers finesse and a certain complexity. It expresses notes of dried red cherry, dried raspberry, fresh raspberry, morello cherry, blackcurrant, as well as notes of evolution (undergrowth, leather)and very delicate notes of truffle and mushrooms, associated with notes of tobacco, sweet spices (white pepper, ground cumin) and dried herbs (mint, bay leaf). The palate is refined and melted, with a round attack and fine tannins. It expresses tertiary notes (undergrowth, leather, mushrooms) balanced by fruity flavors (very ripe fresh red cherry, dried red cherry, crushed strawberry, crushed raspberry, blackcurrant), as well as floral notes of peony, violet and sweet spices (nutmeg, white pepper). The finish is persistent, velvety and savoury. Beautiful refreshing acidity, combined with warm notes of cocoa and cumin on the finish.
