Clos Saint Michel 2016 – Châteauneuf-du-Pape

The nose offers a fine intensity. This wine needs to be put in carafe. It reveals notes of ripe cassis, violet/cornflower and small notes of ripe/crushed small blue fruits associated with touches of black cherry/griotte as well as a hint of raspberry, nutmeg, sense of the place and discreet hints of graphite. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a juicy/finely acidulous as well as gourmandize. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy/juicy blackberry, small blue berries and small notes of black cherry associated with fine touches of violet, iris as well as fine hints of graphite, cocoa and a discreet hint of pepper.
