Clos de la Vieille Eglise 2018 – Pomerol

The nose is fresh, powerful and offers concentration as well as crunchiness/juiciness. It reveals notes of ripe/crunchy/fresh cassis, ripe/fresh.crunchy Boysen berry and small notes of ripe/fresh blueberry associated with touches of ripe/fresh strawberry, hints of mentholed liquorice as well as very fine hints of liquorice, fresh flowers, black tea, Sichuan pepper and an imperceptible hint of nutmeg. The palate is fruity, fresh, well-balanced, racy, silky and offers a good definition, juiciness, gourmandize, a beautiful acidulous/fresh frame, tension, minerality as well as a fine grain. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy/fresh blackberry and more slighty fleshy/fresh/fleshy cassis associated with small touches of fleshy/juicy blueberry, fleshy/juicy strawberry, hints of chocolate, toasted, cornflower as well as very discreet hints of liquorice, a very discreet hint of tonka bean (in the background) and an imperceptible hint of mild tobacco. Tannins are elegant and very discreetly discreet. Good length. A very fine chew and gourmandize on the finish.
