Clos Badon 2017 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

Clos Badon 2017 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

The nose is fruity, elegant and offers richness, power (but full of balance)e, a fine grain as well as deepness. It reveals notes of ripe cassis, Boysen berry and small notes of wild blueberry associated with touches of violet, Sichuan pepper, liquorice as well as hints of spices, Bourbon vanilla, caramelization and camphor. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, racy and offers a juicy/acidulous frame, minerality, precision as well as power (but full of elegance). On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy blackberry, fleshy cassis and small notes of raspberry associated with small touches of blueberry, flowers as well as very fine hints of almond, toasted/vanilla and a subtle hint of camphor. Tannins are elegant and well-built. A beautiful persistence with notes of liquorice, mild tobacco and caramelization.
