Chevalier Torpez Ultimum AOP Côtes de Provence 2014

Chevalier Torpez Ultimum AOP Côtes de Provence 2014

This wine is clear and shiny. It has a color approaching garnet, of medium intensity. The first nose is fresh with mint but also tomato juice as well as fine touches of prune and dried fig. The second nose has beautiful tertiary notes with dried fruits but also aromatic herbs such as sage as well as blond tobacco. There are imperceptible hints of gray pepper and a pleasant very light meatiness. The attack is smooth, fresh with slightly present tannins that melt quickly. The wine is not very aromatic. There are some notes of cocoa and tobacco. There are also slight notes of cherry and dried tomato. There is a small bitterness in the mid-palate brought by the astringency of the remaining tannins. The finish is light on pear skin and rose. A wine to enjoy today.
