Château Tour des Termes 2014 – Saint-Estèphe – Cru Bourgeois

The nose is fruity, intense, relatively concentrated and quite powerful. It reveals notes of cocoa/roasting, cassis, blackberry and wild strawberry associated with discreet hints of red berries, notes of saline minerality. After aeration in the glass, it appears discreet hints of incense, Sichuan pepper as well as a very discreet hint of flowers and blueberry. The palate is fruity, mineral, fluid, elegant, silky, round, well-defined and it’s… a bit aerial, fat, racy minerality, a very discreet hint of salinity (in the background). In the mouth this wine expresses notes of blackberry, raspberry and slight notes of cassis, small fresh fruits associated with slight toasted notes, dark chocolate as well as discreets notes of sweet spices. Tannins are fine, elegants and already nicely supple for their age. The aftertaste is suave, fruity, gourmand and offers a small fruits acidity. Good length and persistence. There are slight notes of caramelized oak and a hint of vanilla on the aftertaste/finish. A nice, fine and gourmand wine !
