Château Smith Haut Lafitte 2012 – Pessac-Léognan, Grand Cru Classé de Graves

The nose is aromatic, elegant, fine and offers a certain concentration. It reveals notes of blackberry, cassis and fine notes of mocha, oak associated with a hint of wild red fruits, cassis bud, fine touches of violets as well as slight notes of fresh cherry, minerality / flint (terroir), spices and a hint of tobacco. The palate is fruity, mineral, elegant, silky, harmonious, slightly aerial and offers a beautiful definition, a nice acid frame, a nice definition, tension, a fine suavity as well as a nice freshness. On the palate this wine expresses blackberry, cassis and fine notes of plum associated with touches of cherry, raspberry, oak, mocha, flint as well as discreet notes of tobacco and cloves . Tannins are fine, elegant and (very) slightly firm / youth. Good length. There are fine notes of cocoa grilled on persistence.
