Château Rouget 2018 – Pomerol

Château Rouget 2018 – Pomerol

The nose is fresh, fruity and offers a certaine complexity and elegance. It reveals notes of cassis, small fresh/crunchy red fruits, small notes of strawberry associated with small touches of small wild black fruits, violet, pepper, a discreet hint of iris, liquorice, toasted oak as well as a very discreet hint of cocoa and dry tabacco. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, full of balance/control and offers an acidulous frame, juiciness, minerality, a beautiful gourmandize, a fine creaminess, a beautiful finesse of the grain as well as suavity. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crushed strawberry, crushed raspberry, small notes of plum associated with touches of violet, chocolate, toasted almond, iris, caramelization as well as a discreet hint of vanilla, a subtle hint of dry tobacco and nutmeg. Good length. Tannins are elegant and well-built. Suavity and gourmandize on the finish/persistence.
