The nose is fruity with fine power and fine grain. There are notes of black cherry, boysenberry and more slightly of violet combined with delicate touches of cardamom, camphor, racy minerality as well as fine graphite, sense of place and a discreet hint of pepper. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, minerality, good definition, a certain amount of tension, gourmandise, some fatness, suavity and an acidic backbone. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of black cherry/cherry, pulpy blackberry and, to a lesser extent, violet, combined with hints of red berries, graphite, racy minerality, as well as fine hints of dark chocolate, pulpy raspberry, caramelisation and toastiness. The tannins are precise, racy and supple. A fine chewiness on the finish.
