Château Ripeau 2017 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Grand Cru Classé

The nose is elegant, aromatic, fruity and offers finesse, power and a beautiful finesse of the grain. It reveals notes of blackberry, ripe cassis and small notes of fleshy small black fruits associated with fine touches of wild strawberry as well as discreet hints of grey pepper, spices and a subtle hint of flowers (iris, cornflower). The palate is fruity, juicy, well-balanced and offers an acidulous frame, tension, a beautiful definition as well as a beautiful precision. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy/ripe wild cassis, ripe/juicy blackberry and small notes of violet/iris associated with touches of raspberry as well as fine hints of blueberry, toasted, tonka bean and discreet hints of toasted almond. Tannins are elegant and structuring. A good bitterness on the second and third caudalie that give dynamism.
