Château Rauzan-Ségla 2022 – Margaux Grand Cru Classé

Château Rauzan-Ségla 2022 – Margaux Grand Cru Classé

The nose is pretty, elegant, precise, fresh and offers a discreet varietal side (in the background), a racy grain as well as a fine iodized side. There are notes of pulpy blackcurrant, small dense/creamy black fruits and slight notes of violet associated with touches of pulpy raspberry as well as hints of pepper. We also have a little varietal, even sappy, side as well as fine hints of black pepper and cloves in the background. The palate is nicely mineral, precise, juicy and offers a tangy structure, suppleness, fullness, freshness, roundness, a lovely finesse, depth, concentration as well as deliciousness. There is tension and accuracy. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy/pulp blackberry, purple plum and small notes of fresh raspberry associated with touches of fresh flowers (such as lily and iris), hints of small crunchy fruits as well as fine hints of toast, nutmeg, tonka bean, fresh sage, sweet spices and a hint of vanilla. It is a wine with density and an airy side. Presence at the end of the mouth of a subtle hint of fresh blond tobacco and camphor. It is a “monster” of delicacy and finesse, all in richness and subtlety.
