Château Rauzan-Gassies 2010 – Margaux, Cru Classé

The nose is aromatic, elegant, racy and offers a certain concentration, a fine grain, deepness and a beautifully built power. It reveals notes of quite ripe blackberry, dry cassis and small notes of quite ripe plum associated with touches of raspberry, violet, cornflower as well as hints of tonka bean, sweet spices and very discreet hints of underwood and a subtle hint of Sichuan pepper. The palate is fruity, tight, aerial, elegant, very finely tight and offers a contained power, a fine grain, juiciness, minerality, freshness and a beautiful racy minerality. On the palate this wine expresses notes of wild blackberry, quite ripe wild cassis and small notes of cornflower associated with touches of small quite ripe blue fruits, crushed redcurrant as well as hints of tobacco, camphor, sweet spices and a very discreet hint of chocolate (in the background). Tannins are precise, elegant and well-built. Good length and persistence. Suavity on the persistence.
