Château Pavie Macquin 2017 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé

The nose is fruity, racy, elegant and offers power, density as well as a very fine powdered sensation (in the background). It reveals notes of ripe/crushed red berries, wild blackberry and more slightly cassis, wild strawberry associated with touches of flowers, racy minerality, graphite as well as a subtle hint of spices. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, racy, very slightly tight and offers juiciness, a good definition, a fine suavity, an acid frame, minerality, precision, power, a fine gourmandize as well as a beautiful grain slightly powdered. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy boysenberry, fleshy red strawberry and cassis associated with fine touches of cornflower/lily (in the background), fleshy raspberry, spices as well as subtle/discreet hints of Sichuan pepper (in the background) and an imperceptible /very discreet iodine/saline hint (in the background). Tannins are very fine, racy, elegant, structuring. Good length. There is a hint of almond on the finish/persistence.
