Château Palmer 2022 – Margaux Grand Cru Classé

Château Palmer 2022 – Margaux Grand Cru Classé

Pretty fresh nose, tense and which offers a fine energetic varietal side. All in precision, in depth and in harmony. A calm and controlled force! It reveals notes of fresh blackberry, lily and slight notes of creamy berries associated with touches of blueberry, crushed raspberry, slight hints of roasted cherry, blond tobacco, star anise as well as a discreet hint of of tomato juice, with a subtle hint of pepper and lilac. The palate is nicely mineral and offers freshness, delicacy, a tangy structure, accuracy as well as a lovely energy which brings a vibrant, even electric side. There is a little darkness all in density with a nice intensity, depth, concentration as well as a fine crunchy character. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, fresh crunchy blackcurrant and small notes of flowers associated with touches of graphite (see ink), juicy/fresh blackcurrant, small fresh/crunchy red fruits and more slightly violet, tomato leaves, nutmeg as well as hints of toasted hazelnut, toasted and a hint of tonka bean accompanying cardamom. Nice work on the good bitters with salinity and sapidity. There is energy and pep. The tannins are racy, elegant and polished. It is a wine with superb freshness, smoothness, all roundness and which offers an airy, tense side as well as a stretched side in its power and richness. Long finish of more than 15 caudalies.
