Château Moulin de Grenet 2020 – Lussac Saint-Emilion

Château Moulin de Grenet 2020 – Lussac Saint-Emilion

The nose is a bit reserved, but offers good concentration, fruit maturity and a fairly pronounced but delicate spiciness. It expresses aromas of juicy black fruits (morello cherry, wild blackberry, blueberry, black plum), crunchy red fruits (bigarreau cherry, red currant), as well as sweet spices (cloves, white pepper, liquorice) with a slight touch of crème de cassis, dried mint and torrefaction (toast, coffee). On the palate, the wine offers roundness and accuracy. It expresses notes of ripe black fruit (fresh blackcurrant, blueberry, morello cherry, black plum), tangy fresh red fruit (red cherry, red currant) and a very slight note of morello cherry jam. The attack is supple and fruity, on the mid-palate, the wine expresses notes of mint, dried herbs (thyme, peppermint), a spicy touch (clove, white pepper, nutmeg) and a subtle note of dark chocolate and a powdery hint of bitter cocoa in the background. The finish is persistent, juicy and fresh, with tangy notes of fresh cassis and lively acidity. The tannic structure is well-built: the tannins are firm, but velvety and melted.
