Château Montviel 2021 – Pomerol

The nose is fruity, fresh and reveals elegance, some richness in elegance/balance. There are notes of creamy blackcurrant, fresh boysenberry and more lightly fresh strawberry combined with hints of star anise, tonka bean and discrete hints of blue plum and a subtle hint of Bourbon vanilla. The palate is fruity, balanced and reveals minerality, freshness, juiciness, a nice definition, roundness, gourmandize and nice definition/finesse in its smoothness/roundness, volume, a nice tension, elegance and a very fine straightness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, blueberry and more lightly creamy blue berries combined with hints of vanilla, and fleshy strawberry as well as hints of caramelisation and sweet spices. Good length. Nice little creaminess in freshness, finesse and balance.
