Château Monlot 2016 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

The nose is elegant, fruity, juicy, aromatic and offers a fine grain, a fine power, a fine delicacy, a small deepness as well as complexity. It reveals notes of juicy Boysenberry, juicy raspberry, and small notes of ripe / juicy cassis combined with fine touches of juicy / ripe blue fruits, very slight hints of violets / cornflowers as well as discreet toasted hints / caramelization, sweet spices, a subtle hint of nutmeg (in the background) and a very discreet hint of camphor. The palate is fruity, juicy, well-balanced, very discreetly tight and offers suavity, a small fat, a fine tension, elegance, a beautiful mineral frame, a good fine grain as well as a small dynamism. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy / juicy cassis, juicy raspberry and small notes of boysenberry associated with a touch of juicy plum, violets / cornflowers, very discreet toasted hints, chocolate as well as a subtle hint of caramelization and very slight hints of cocoa bitterness in the background / on the finish. There are a very discreet hint of hazelnut (in the background) and an imperceptible hint of vanilla. Tannins are very slightly mellow. Good persistence.
