Château Monbousquet 2021 – Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé

Château Monbousquet 2021 – Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé

The nose is fresh, fruity and reveals a nice definition and fine crispness. There are notes of fresh blackberry, ripe/charny berries and more lightly fresh red berries combined with a fine touch of fresh violet, very fine zaniness and a hint of blueberry and sweet spice. The palate is fruity, balanced and reveals freshness, minerality, good definition, a certain gourmandize and a little tension/straightness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, crushed blackcurrant and more lightly blueberry combined with hints of dark chocolate/mocha, light tobacco, fine vanilla and a subtle hint of caramelisation. Good length. The tannins are precise and relatively mellow. A lovely, juicy, well-made wine which, despite everything, also reveals a little crispness of the fruit. A fine touch of positive bitterness and a very discreet hint of cocoa on the finish.
