Château Meyney 2021 – Saint-Estèphe

Château Meyney 2021 – Saint-Estèphe

The nose is precise, nicely classic but elegant, revealing power (in accuracy/finesse), good definition, fine grain and freshness. There are notes of pulpy blackcurrant, wild strawberry and, more slightly, pulpy raspberry combined with hints of violet, racy salinity/graves, discreet hints of fresh nutmeg and an imperceptible hint of serenity. The palate is fruity and offers freshness, minerality, a juicy/fresh structure, suavity, good definition, a certain gourmandize, precision, salinity, a nice work on the bitter taste, suppleness, power and straightness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy raspberry, fresh/sparkling red berries and, more slightly, violets, combined with hints of saline/chalky gravel, fresh wild blackberry, as well as discreet hints of cuben pepper, nutmeg, a subtle touch of star anise and toast. The tannins are precise, smooth, elegant, fresh and racy. Good length.
