The nose is fresh, spicy and reveals good definition, precision, some delicate power, fine concentration, depth and finesse. There are notes of blueberry, bright blue berries and graphite combined with hints of lily, Cuben pepper, fine hints of limestone, sense of place (almost fresh oak / local biotop), star anise / zan as well as a very discreet hint of black tea and a subtle hint of bourbon vanilla. The palate is elegant, bright, balanced, fine and reveals a nice definition, precision, gourmandize, acidity, minerality, tension, a nice sense of detail and a nice attention to detail. On the palate this wine expresses bright blackcurrant, graphite and more lightly tart/pulpy blue berry and more lightly tart/ripe currant notes with hints of camphor, cocoa and fine vanilla, blueberry, sweet spice and almost a discreet side of toasted almond. Positive bitterness on the finish/persistence. A subtle hint of fresh thyme in the background. Good length. Nice freshness and minerality. Very nice quality of tannins.
