Château Mangot 2018 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

The nose is fruity and offers concentration, richness, freshness, precision, power as well as richness. It reveals notes of fleshy blackberry, fleshy cassis and small notes of racy minerality associated with touches of liquorice stick, ripe small wild red fruits, flowers as well as dine touches of toasted, nutmeg, spices and an imperceptible hint of Bourbon vanilla. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, very finely tight and offers freshness, suavity, deepness, gourmandize, a beautiful material, tension, finesse, precision as well as a mineral and finely acidulous frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy cassis, fleshy blackberry and small notes of small fleshy/juicy red berries associated with touches of chocolate, flowers (cornflower…), minerality, toasted, very fine hints of caramelization (in the background) as well as very discreet hints of vanilla and dried almond/hazenul. Tannins are well-built. Beautiful grain on the finish. Good length and persistence.
