The nose reveals power, good definition, depth and intensity. There are notes of pepper, ripe blackcurrant and, to a lesser extent, pulpy wild strawberry, combined with hints of lilac, racy minerality and fine hints of blond tobacco and varietal aromas as well as a hint of Bourbon vanilla bean and a subtle touch of fresh hazelnut (in the background). The palate is fruity, fresh and offers minerality, acidity, precision, tension and elegance. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fresh blackberry, raspberry and more lightly fresh lilac/lys combined with hints of crunchy red berries as well as fine hints of star anise, iodine and a discreet varietal hint in the background. Good length. The tannins are precise and mellow, good work on the bitter taste.
