Château L’Evangile  2016 – Pomerol

Château L’Evangile  2016 – Pomerol

(92% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc) The nose is elegant, fine, fruity, racy, finely powerful and offers a slight freshness. It reveals notes of cassis, blueberry and slight hints of blackberry associated and touches of mocha as well as discreet hints of cacao, terroir and flowers. The palate is fruity, juicy, elegant, velvety, (very) slightly creamy, beautifully racy (terroir!), nicely powerful and offers a very beautiful freshness, tension, a great definition/fruit as well as a good structure. In the mouth this wine expresses beautiful notes of juicy blackberry, cassis and very slight notes of fresh red fruits (cherry, red berries), ripe Garigette strawberry associated with slight hints of black cherry, toasted oak, mocha, slight oaky notes (around the fruit) and vanilla. Tannins are fine and slightly dusty/velvety. Good length. The aftertaste is slightly suave and offert a toasted/caramelized hint and hazelnut.
