The nose is elegant and offers depth, fine grain and controlled intensity. There are notes of ripe wild blackcurrant, morello cherry and slightly ripe red berry fruits combined with fine touches of almost saline minerality, liquorice, a hint of violet, sap and fine chocolate/vanilla. The palate is fruity and offers freshness, juiciness, good definition, a certain gourmandise, straightforwardness, a nice body, a nice grain as well as a finely tightened tannic structure. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of crushed raspberry, pulpy/juicy cherry and, more slightly, blackberry, combined with hints of fairly ripe berries (a subtle hint of over-ripeness while retaining its freshness), fresh vanilla, toastiness, as well as a subtle hint of toasted almonds, chocolate and sweet blond tobacco. The tannins are elegant, racy and structuring. Some mellowness on the finish. Good work on the bitter taste.
