Château Léoville Poyferré 2015 – Saint-Julien, 2nd Grand Cru Classé

The nose is fruity, gourmand, elegant and relatively rich. It reveals notes of blackberry, Quetsche plum and cassis associated with slight notes of wild strawberry, a fine touch of spices, oak and a hint of Sichuan pepper. The palate is fruity, gourmand, racy, relatively generous, relatively fat and offers a beautiful maturity, a mineral frame, a small acidity as well as a beautiful silky matter, density and texture. On the palate this wine expresses notes of plum, juicy cassis and fine notes of blackberry associated with a touch of fresh red cherry as well as a hint of liquorice, toasted oak and a touch of roasting. Tannins are fine, elegant and slightly firm. Good length and persistence with notes of coffee.
