Château Le Rey – Les Argileuses 2021 – Castillon Côtes-de-Bordeaux

The nose is fruity, fresh and reveals a fine crispness as well as a certain gourmandize. There are notes of fresh/ripe wild blackcurrant violet and, to a lesser extent, fresh berries, combined with hints of pepper combined with touches of pepper and a discreet hint of camphor. The palate is fruity, racy and offers juiciness, minerality, crispness, gourmandize, silkiness as well as a fine airy quality in its balance. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of black cherry/bigarreau juicy/pulpy, blackberry and more slightly wild strawberry with hints of peony, lilac and fine hints of liquorice and a discreet hint of toast/toasted almond. A very discreet hint of varietal aromas and a little chewiness on the finish/persistence.
