Château Le Pape 2021 – Pessac-Léognan

Château Le Pape 2021 – Pessac-Léognan

The nose is fruity and reveals elegance, a certain power and a nice finesse of grain. There are notes of pulpy blackberry, almost roasted cherry and more slightly ripe red berry fruits combined with touches of fresh lily, fresh lilac as well as fine hints of liquorice and a discreet vanilla. The palate is fruity and offers a nice acidic structure, freshness, acidity, tension and a nice energy. On the palate this wine expresses juicy/acidic cherry, crisp red berries and more lightly violet notes combined with small hints of juicy/ripe blackcurrant, zan/badian, graphite as well as fine hints of almond, tonka bean and a subtle almost bergamot/persistence. A hint of vanilla/almost biscuit in the background/persistence. Good persistence. Good work on the bitter taste.
