Château Le Caillou 2018 – Pomerol

The nose is elegant, racy and offers complexity, energy and a fine acidulous frame. It reveals notes of Boysen berry, pulpy strawberry and small notes of small fresh blue fruits associated with touches of lilac, rose, fresh nutmeg as well as fine hints of vanilla, toasted and a very discreet hint of green cardamom. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, finely tight and offers a fine density, a fine mineraluty, juiciness, energy as well as a fine acidulous frame and a flowery side. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy/fresh Boysen berry, violet, small notes of cornflower associated with touches of small juicy/bright blue berries as well as hints of raspberry, lilac, fine hints of zan, fresh mild tobacco and a very discreet hint of fresh hazelnut. Good length. Tannins are finely dry.
