Château Larrivet Haut-Brion Blanc 2021 – Pessac-Léognan

Château Larrivet Haut-Brion Blanc 2021 – Pessac-Léognan

The nose is beautifully elegant, racy and reveals a lovely racy minerality, precision, fine grain and harmony. There are notes of lychee, peach blossom, rose petal, and more lightly vine peach, “salty grease” combined with hints of ripe kumquat, crushed exotic berries, toasted oak/almost brown sugar, and delicate almost acacia and a subtle almost toasted edge. The palate is nicely conducted and reveals gourmandize, an acidic backbone, tension, juiciness, precision, a nice dynamism, roundness, a fine airy side in the balances, freshness and aromatic purity. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of lychee, quenette and, more slightly, crushed vine peach, combined with hints of passion fruit, a fine, almost smoky, saline touch, a hint of kumquat/pulpy yellow fruit, a subtle touch of pineapple and discreet hints of sweet spices, vanilla and toastiness. Nice sapidity. Good length and persistence.
