Château Lamothe Guignard 2013 – Sauternes

Château Lamothe Guignard 2013 – Sauternes

The wine has a deep golden color. The nose is subtle, honeyed and very fruity. It expresses notes of fresh papaya, yellow peach in syrup, roasted apricot, pineapple in syrup, ripe mango, candied orange, lemon peel and candied lime, as well as fine floral notes (acacia, apple blossom, orange blossom), a touch of fresh almond, beeswax, sweet spices and roasting (toasted hazelnut, vanilla, a hint of nutmeg, saffron), as well as a touch of butter and toasted brioche. The palate expresses more the notes of development: we find in particular the flavors of roasted apple, wet leaves, dried fig, dried apricot, a very slight note of cognac. There are also notes of bitter orange jam, roasted apricot, peach in syrup, toasted hazelnut, bitter almond, black tea, poached pear, honey, beeswax and dried flowers (lime blossom, chamomile), with a touch of vanilla in the background. The finish is sapid, long, with an oily texture, balanced by a good level of acidity and a bitter hint of grapefruit. A balanced wine with refined and integrated notes of development.
