Château Lalande-Borie 2017 – Saint-Julien

The nose is fruity, very slightly tight and offers a fine density, freshness as well as a fine fleshiness. It reveals notes of cassis, boysenberry and ripe/crushed strawberry associated with discreet touches of caramelized oak, vanilla as well as discreet touches of Cuben pepper and a racy minerality. The palate is fruity, juicy, slightly tight, well-balanced and offers an acid frame, a good freshness as well as a fine power. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry, juicy wild strawberry and juicy redcurrant associated with discreet touches of fleshy cassis, discreet touches of tonka bean/cocoa as well as a very discreet hint of liquorice (in the background) and very discreet hints of vanilla/caramelization. Tannins are fine and very slightly firm. Fine chews on the persistence. There is a hint of cocoa on the persistence.
