Château Lagrange 2017 – Saint-Julien Cru Classé

The nose is elegant, aromatic, gourmand and offers a fine concentration, a fine richness, silkiness as well as a good suavity. It reveals notes of blackberry, cassis and crunchy/ripe red fruits (strawberry…), black cherry associated with subtle hints of liquorice, discreet hints of toasted oak, Bourbon vanilla, a hint of cardamom as well as very fine hints of chocolate. There is a slightly milky side/caramelization after aerating. The palate is fruity, fresh, mineral, well-balanced, elegant, silky, aery and offers juiciness, a beautiful definition as well as a beautiful finesse. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crushed blackberry, crushed cassis and more slightly raspberry associated with fine touches of fresh/juicy redcurrant, a subtle hint of ripe/juicy cherry as well as subtle touches of toasted oak, almond, a fine hint of gravels (Graves), vanilla. Very beautiful grain of tannins. There is a very discreet hint of chocolate and an imperceptible hint of coffee on the finish. Beautiful potential!
