Château Laffitte Carcasset 2020 – Saint-Estèphe 

On the nose, fruity and offers freshness, a little tight and finely restrained. It reveals notes of fresh blackberry, pulpy raspberry and hints of ripe/fresh wild berries associated with small touches of grey pepper, spices and fine points of fresh tobacco. On the palate, fruity and offers juiciness, minerality, gourmandise, good definition, some tension/richness, control, freshness and a little minerality. The wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, fresh/pulpy cassis and hints of small wild red currants associated with touches of cuben pepper, fresh blond tobacco, sweet spices, a fine touch of nutmeg and a discreet almost iodine touch. Good length. A subtle hint of mocha/torrefaction on the finish/persistence. The tannins are finely firm.
