Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey 2017 – Sauternes, 1er Grand Cru Classé

The nose is elegant, aromatic, racy, fine and offers a small spicy side, a fine grain as well as a beautiful controlled power. It reveals notes of quince, small yellow fruits and small notes of nutmeg, citrus associated with touches of fresh/juicy vine peach, apple, hints of spices, nutmeg as well as discreet hints of pepper and ginger. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a small unctuosity, gourmandize, an acidulous/juicy frame, fat as well as a fine freshness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crystalized lemon, crystalized mandarine and small notes of quince associated with fine touches of pineapple in syrup, peach in syrup as well as fine hints of candied ginger, almond, spices as well as an imperceptible hint of coffee (in the background). Good length. There are discreet hints of honey and almond on the finish/persistence. A beautiful gourmand and elegant wine!
