Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey 2009 – Sauternes, 1er Grand Cru Classé

The nose is aromatic, spicy and offers power as well as richness but full of finesse. It reveals notes of candied Williams pear, candied lemon and small notes of kumquat associated with touches of spices, Timut pepper, white tea, litchee as well as very fine hints of candied ginger and nutmeg. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, precise and offers a juicy/acidulous frame, freshness, a racy minerality, elegant, sugar as well as deepness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of candied apple, candied William pear and small notes of kumquat associated with fine touches of candied lemon, candied green apple, litchee, candied ginger as well as hints of spices, nutmeg and a discreet hint of fresh hazelnut. Good length and good persistence. There is an imperceptible hint of chocolate on the aftertaste.
