The nose is fruity, spicy and shows fine concentration, some power, fine and powerful graininess. There are notes of bright strawberry, bright blackcurrant and slightly morello cherry combined with fine touches of violet, camphor, cocoa, a fine note of pepper, saffron (flowers) and a discreet hint of liquorice. The palate is fruity and reveals juiciness, smoothness, an acidic structure, harmony, some volume, a mineral structure and tension. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of bright blackcurrant, tart/juicy blackberry and, more slightly, raspberry, combined with hints of crushed berries, star anise, cocoa/mocha, as well as fine hints of roast, lily, sweet blond tobacco, toasted almond and vanilla. The tannins are finely powdered. Good length.
