Château La Valade – L’Intime 2017 – Fronsac

The nose is fruity and offer a fine fleshiness, a fine concentration as well as elegance. It reveals notes of blackberry, violet and small notes of wild strawberry associated with a fine hint of cornflower/blueberry as well as a discreet hint of red berries, very fine hints of liquorice and an imperceptible hint of nutmeg. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, elegant, precise and offers a good definition, juiciness, a mineral frame, freshness, finesse, a very fine salinity (in the background) as well as straightness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy/juicy cassis, fleshy/juicy black cherry and small notes of strawberry associated with very fine hints of flowers, cocoa, toasted/caramelization (in the background) as well as discreet hints of liquorice. Tannins are elegant and very slightly tight. Good length and persistence.
