Château La Tour Blanche, 1er Cru Classé en 1855, 2013 – Sauternes

The wine has a golden color of medium intensity. The nose is refined and elegant, with lots of freshness and delicate aromas of development. It expresses notes of ripe yellow peach, roasted apricot, pineapple in syrup, fresh lemon, candied lemon peel, bitter orange jam, roasted pineapple, apple blossom, acacia, a touch of roasted golden apple, poached pear, honey and beeswax, combined with notes of vanilla, caramel, brown butter, fresh hazelnut, a touch of roasted bitter almond and toasted brioche. On the palate, the wine offers depth, complexity, a round and oily texture, balanced by a beautiful acidity. We find notes of peach in syrup, candied apricot, bitter orange jam, candied lemon peel, pineapple in syrup, roasted golden apple, poached pear, as well as a fine floral bouquet. (acacia, apple blossom), spicy (nutmeg, vanilla), milky (butter), honeyed notes and a hint of torefaction (toasted brioche, caramel, hazelnut praline). The finish is persistent and rich, balanced by a good level of acidity and tangy notes of candied lemon.
