Château La Tonnelle 2016 – Haut-Médoc, Cru Bourgeois

The nose is aromatic and offers concentration/richness, a good structure as well as a fine intensity. It reveals notes of ripe cassis, ripe/fleshy wild strawberry and more slightly ripe/fleshy small berries associated with a hint of flowers, liquorice stick as well as fine hints of clove/spices. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, well-built and offers precision, a  small tension, a good definition, a good structure, freshness , gourmandize, a good volume as well as a fine juicy frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy blackberry, fleshy cherry and more slightly juicy/fleshy plum associated with small touches of juicy/fleshy strawberry, hints of flowers, a discreet hint of liquorice/cardamom as well as a very discreet hint of bud (in the background) and coffee (in the background). Good length. There is a fine hint of chocolate on the finish.
