Château La Roque de By 2019 – Médoc Cru Bourgeois

The nose is fruity and offers elegance, deliciousness and a little concentration of fruit. There are notes of boysenberry, ripe blackcurrant and, more slightly, crushed raspberry, combined with hints of morello cherry, fine hints of liquorice, chocolate and a very discreet hint of fresh vanilla and a subtle touch of grey pepper. The palate is mineral, fruity, balanced and offers suavity, a little fat, gourmandise, elegance, a nice freshness, harmony and a fine creaminess. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/creamy blackcurrant, pulpy/creamy boysenberry and, more slightly, wild strawberry, combined with touches of violet, tonka bean and a hint of cardamom. The tannins are precise and well conducted.
