Château La Roque de By 2018 – Médoc

The nose offers intensity, a certain power as well as a fine grain and a small deepness. It reveals notes of wild blackberry, wild cassis and small notes of pepper associated with touches of wild raspberry, spices as well as fine hints of cherry blossom, raspberry leaf, fine hints of liquorice and a very discreet/imperceptible hint of vanilla. The palate is fruity, fresh, mineral, well-balanced and offers tension, a mineral frame and a certain energy on the fruit. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy raspberry, griotteand small notes of bright cassis associated with touches of spices, mild tobacco, violet, cherry blossom, tonka bean as well as hints of chocolate, toasted and a subtle hint of hazelnut (in the background). Good length. Tannins are precise and well-built. A subtle hint of coffee on the persistence.
