Château La Prade 2017 – Francs Cotes de Bordeaux

The nose is fruity and offers a fine concentration (in the background). It reveals notes of blackberry, cassis and small fleshy black berries associated with fine hints of crunchy red fruits , Sichuan pepper, toasted oak, spices as well as a subtle hint of grilled and very discreet hints of flowers (iris, lily) in the background. The palate is fruity, juicy, well-balanced, well-built and offers a beautiful definition, gourmandize, a fine fleshiness, a fine unctuosity, a small fat, tension, an acid frame as well as a beautiful freshness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of cassis, crunchy/juicy blackberry and more slightly fresh raspberry, fresh redcurrant associated with fine touches of liquorice, a subtle hint of vanilla, cola, sweet spices. Tannins are fine, structuring and slightly chewy. Small chews on the finish. There is a very discreet hint of chocolate and a subtle hint of toasted almond on the finish. Beautiful grain very slightly powdered on the finish/persistence.
