Château La Marzelle 2021 – Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé

Château La Marzelle 2021 – Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé

The nose is fruity and reveals concentration, a fine power and a very fine spiciness. There are notes of ripe wild blackcurrant, blackberry and more slightly pulpy purple plum combined with hints of wild red berries, fine peppery, floral/varietal notes, discreet almost infusion/bergamot and a fine hint of liquorice stick and bourbon vanilla. The palate offers minerality, a mineral/acidic backbone, juiciness, precision, fine tension, volume, a fine linear side and juicy/acidic/fresh fruit. On the palate this wine expresses juicy/fresh blackberry, blackcurrant and more lightly red berry notes combined with hints of flowers, zan, a little varietal touch as well as discrete hints of racy/terroir minerality, chocolate, fresh blond tobacco and a subtle hint of cardamom. Good length. A very discreet hint of saltiness at the back, stretching the finish.
