Château La Commanderie 2020 – Saint-Estèphe 

On the nose, fruity and offers gourmandize, generosity, boldness and fine richness and a subtle intensity. It reveals notes of boysenberry, bright cassis and hints of violet associated with splashes of wild strawberry, pepper and fine points of black tea, camphor, discrete pepper points with a subtle hint of coffee. On the palate, fruity and offers juiciness, freshness, a little creaminess, roundness, mastered in richness, and depth. The wine expresses notes of fleshy/juicy raspberry, fleshy strawberry and hints of fleshy cassis associated with touches of fleshy/juicy violet plum and hints of tonka bean, caramelization, graphite, fine hints of vanilla, a subtle hint of bergamot in the background and toast. The tannins are massive, relatively polished and offers power and straightness.
