Château Joanin Bécot 2021 – Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux

The nose is elegant, delicate and reveals a certain intensity of fruit, a nice finesse of grain, delicacy and a fine infusion. There are notes of bright/ripe blackcurrant, boysenberry and more lightly pulpy/fresh wild strawberry combined with fine hints of fleshy berries, graphite as well as fine hints of almond and a discreet almost bergamot. A very pretty airiness, delicacy. The palate is fruity, balanced, racy and reveals juiciness, a nice definition, gourmandize, a nice acidity, a little crunch, a little density/infusion in finesse, delicacy, elegance as well as a nice airy side in its power. On the palate this wine expresses juicy/fresh boysenberry, bright raspberry and slightly brighter blue berry notes combined with fine mocha, camphor, hints of bergamot/infusion, a fine hint of fresh/juicy berries as well as fine hints of cocoa, positive bitterness as well as a subtle hint of sweet spice. An imperceptible hint of varietal aromas and sapid flavours on the finish, which add to the gourmandize and length. Nice definition and gourmandize. A very pretty wine with delicacy, finesse and some “infusion” quality.
