Château Hourtin-Ducasse 2017 – Haut-Médoc

The nose is fine, racy and offers concentration, a fine power as well as a beautiful grain. It reveals notes of cassis and fleshy boysenberry associated with small notes of wild strawberry, racy minerality as well as touches of flowers and hints of Cuben/Timut pepper. The palate is fruity, mineral, well-balanced, racy, very slightly tight and offers a beautiful precision/definition, a good finesse of the grain, a fine suavity as well as a fine acid frame (in the background). On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry, juicy wild strawberry and more slightly cassis associated with small touches of crunchy small red fruits as well as fine hints of toasted, chocolate, a discreet hint of vanilla and a very discreet hint of flowers (in the background). Tannins are fine and slightly firm. Good length.
