Château Haut-Maurac 2015 – Médoc – Cru Bourgeois

The nose is fruity, very slightly tight and slightly powerful. It reveals notes of cassis, ripe berries and slight touches of blackberries / wild blueberries combined with a discreet hint of black cherry, subtle hints of flowers, Sichuan pepper and a discreet hint of spices. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a nice juiciness, suavity, precision, a fine gourmandise and a small fat. On the palate this wine expresses notes of black cherry, blueberry and slight notes of blackberry associated with discreet touches of ripe wild raspberry, crushed strawberry, a subtle hint of liquorice, chocolate as well as a very discreet touch of caramelized oak, menthol (on the finish) and an imperceptible touch of coffee. Tannins are fine and very slightly strict. Good length.
