Château Haut-Maillet 2021 – Pomerol

The nose is fruity, fresh and reveals some acidity and intensity. There are notes of fresh/juicy cherry, fresh/juicy raspberry and more lightly of violet combined with fine touches of fresh/juicy blackcurrant, spice and a fine almost exotic spice and a discreet hint of star anise. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, acidity, tension, linearity, a fine delicacy and dynamism. On the palate this wine expresses juicy/pulpy blackberry, tart raspberry and more lightly lily, fresh blueberry notes combined with hints of tart/crisp berries, a fine varietal edge as well as hints of tonka bean, cocoa and zan. The tannins are racy and reveal a fine straightness.
